Advent is a time of expectation and hope. “Advent” means “arrival” or “coming,” and it prompts us to pause each day in December and remember why Jesus came at Christmas. Christians use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas. One candle is lit on the first Sunday of Advent, two are lit on the second Sunday and so on. In many churches, the color purple is used to signify the season of Advent. On the third Sunday, representing Mary, the color is sometimes changes to pink. A fifth white candle is lit on Christmas Day to celebrate Jesus’ birth. The first candle symbolizes hope , The second candle represents faith, The third candle symbolizes joy The fourth candle represents peace, The fifth candle represents light and purity and is called “Christ’s candle.” The Beebe church family celebrated the season of Advent during the month of December by the lighting of candles every Sunday leading up to Christmas, we sang, prayed and celebrated during this wonderful time of year, we pray each of you had a Merry Blessed Christmas with your families and friends. We also pray that you have a joyous and prosperous new year in 2019. May God Bless each of You.

The Beebe Church Family would like to say "Thank You" to our Family and Friends that came out this morning to make our Missionary Pre Thanksgiving Feast a success. We enjoyed good friends, family and great food. Missionary Nita Threadgill of Miles Chapel, Texarkana, AR. brought the message, "The Harvest is Plentiful, but the Laborers are few". We would also like to thank those that played a part in our program, Sis. Rhonda Dolberry, Sis. Mashelle Whitmore, Sis. Katherine Griffin, Sis. Wendy Stuart, Bro. Mark Muldrow, Bro. Vincent Bishop, Sis. Renata Bishop, and our Pastor, Rev. Monette Shaw. It is our prayer that each of you have a Wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. The Best times are always found when friends and family gather round. The Beebe Church family would like to say "Thank You" to our friends and family for making our Annual Family and Friends Day a huge success.

With the ever changing music styles in the modern church, there are relatively few youth choirs in our local church ministries. Beebe's youth choir was on fire yesterday as they sang with a little help from some adult choir members. Can you feel the Rain?

Easter 2018 at Beebe Memorial C.M.E. Church was spent celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after His Crucifixion. Easter is a way of remembering that the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew daily hope that we have victory over sin. Thank you to our family and friends that came to celebrate "Resurrection Sunday" with us, we were blessed in your presence.

February marks Black History Month, a tribute to African-American men and women who have made significant contributions to America and the rest of the world in the fields of science, politics, law, sports, the arts, entertainment, and many other fields. While Black History Month is synonymous with prominent figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and President Barack Obama, there are countless other African-Americans who've made a profound impact in history. Here at Beebe we celebrated Black History Month with portrayals of African Americans that made an impact on our history but weren't well known, and by dressing in different colors each Sunday from our African Heritage and with Praise Dancing(Just like song, praise dance is an alternative to words to express experiences of God, testify and pray. “Praise dance” can refer to any Christian dance. Often, however, “praise dance” implies worship dance that has evolved out of African-American churches). As Black History Month comes to an end on our calendars, we should always remember our ancestors that came before us to pave the way, Black History is American History, May God Bless each of You.

This past Sunday, Christmas Eve was the fourth Sunday of the Advent Season, after relighting the candles from the previous three weeks we lit the candle of Peace, and also the Christ candle.This is the Sunday that best celebrates the imminent birth of the Prince of Peace. The peace Jesus brings is often spiritual and internal, often in spite of the turbulence that exists in the world around us. From the Beebe Church Family to each and everyone of you, we hope you had a Merry Christmas and pray you have a Happy New Year. May the PEACE of God that passes all understanding be with you always.

This past Sunday after relighting the candles from the first two weeks of Advent, the Candle of JOY was lit. A few things about the word JOY. The JOY of the LORD is my strength, JOY to the WORLD, the message of the angels to the shepherds was one of “good tidings of great JOY. Those that sow in tears shall reap in JOY "Find JOY in your Journey"

December 10, 2017, the Second Sunday of the Advent season is dedicated to Love, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. After relighting the candle of Hope from the First Sunday of Advent, a second purple candle is lit to reflect Love.

Advent is a season observed as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. Yesterday, Beebe's Stewardesses Sis. Shirley Ogden and Sis. Renata Bishop lit the candle of Hope. May it remind each and everyone one of us of God's great promise to us. He is our hope, He is our Redeemer, and He is our Savior.

Although Beebe CME Church celebrated Thanksgiving with friends and family a little early with a Pre-Thanksgiving Brunch on Saturday, we pray that all our friends and family had a blessed Thanksgiving today. May God continue to bless each of you.

The month of December has been a blessed one at Beebe Church, we have fed the community like family at our soup kitchen on Tuesday nights, we have lit candles during the Advent season and been blessed by the presence of God's little children. We wish all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2017!!!
